Gurdwara Sri Somasar Sahib

Gurdwara Sri Somasar Sahib (ਗੁਰਦਵਾਰਾ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸੋਮਾਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ) is situated near the Tibba village in the Ludhiana district. Guru Gobind Singh Ji, after evading the Mughal and Rajput attackers at Chamkaur, came to Machhiwara. It was then that two Pathan brothers, Bhai Ghani Khan and Bhai Nabi Khan, even at the prospect of facing certain death, helped Guru Gobind Singh Ji to escape from the pursuing Mughal army. At Machhiwara Guru Gobind Singh Ji donned the blue robes of a Sufi pretending to be the Uchh da Pir.

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji arrived Tibba village after passing through a number of villages. Along with Guru Gobind Singh Ji was Bhai Daya Singh, Bhai Dharam Singh, Bhai Maan Singh, Bhai Ghani Khan and Bhai Nabi Khan. When Guru Gobind Singh asked a nearby villager, who was grazing cattle, for water. The villager started shouting. It is said that Guru Gobind Singh came here, at the site of Gurdwara Sri Somasar Sahib, and touched the ground with the tip of his arrow, a sprinkle of water started coming out. Guru Ji himself drank the water and also fed the Sangat after that, Guru Sahib blessed this place that whosoever will take bath here with full devotion, his wishes will be fulfilled. Guru Gobind Singh and his companions continued to Alamgir and beyond.
